Březová Nad Svitavou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Březová nad Svitavou is located on the historic Bohemian-Moravian provincial border. The Svitava River divides the town into a Bohemian and a Moravian part.

Nature and Trails

The “Naučná stezka údolím řeky Svitavy” is the local circular trail. It is approximately 8 km long and has 13 information boards covering nature, the landscape, and the history of human settlement. It is marked as a circular route and runs mainly along unpaved field and forest paths. The trail begins behind the Dlouhá railway stop.

The route also includes the “Dobře ukrytá rozhledna Járy Cimrmana”. The observation tower is 20 m high, while its viewing platform is 15 m above the surrounding terrain. Another peaceful route is the “Ovocná alej”. There, visitors can see original tree varieties as well as the first cultivated, resilient varieties. In addition, the “Jabloňová alej” project was implemented by the town of Březová nad Svitavou in 2006; 140 trees were planted as part of the avenue.

Geography and Water

A significant and productive groundwater spring area is located in the cadastral territory of Březová nad Svitavou. Water also shapes the town through the “První březovský vodovod”, which has been preserved to this day as a functioning technical monument. It was built for Brno between 1911 and 1913.

Culture and History

The parish church “Kostel sv. Bartolomeje” was built in the 13th century and underwent its final Baroque reconstruction in 1725. The history of local crafts and food production also includes milling: traditionally, it was widespread in Březová nad Svitavou and produced “březovská mouka”.
