Stepanovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The protected sandstone rock area of Borecké skály also extends across the cadastral area of Štěpánovice u Rovenska pod Troskami. It includes sandstone walls, ravine-like channels, rock windows and other formations shaped by erosion.

Nature and Landscape

The Bora pine forest is located on sandstone rocks between Štěpánovice, Borek and Ktová. Several individual rock elevations continue northwards towards Štěpánovice, including the Štěpánka rock tower.

Čechova vyhlídka is located on the edge of the rock escarpment near the 360 m elevation point at Bor and offers a view towards Trosky.

Paths and Routes

The “Štěpánovický kopec” walk leads from the cemetery via Krausova Alley to the Štěpánovice Cross and on to Blatec. On the way back, the “Skalička” walk passes through Štěpánovice.

Borecké skály can be reached via a walkable tourist trail that begins or continues more than 250 metres from the road.

The 21.5 km cycling route “Na Trosky přes Doubravici” passes through Štěpánovice and is of moderate difficulty.

Culture and History

The stone Štěpánovice Cross stands on the road from Štěpánovice to Rovensko pod Troskami, at the junction near Katova tůně. The residents of Štěpánovice had it erected in 1876. Josef Zeman from Tatobity made the base of the cross.
