In good visibility, the Rozhledna Hamštejn offers an almost unobstructed panoramic view of the rock towns of Český ráj and towards Trosky. The observation tower is 25 metres high and built as a steel-and-wood structure; its viewing platform is approximately 22 metres above ground level and can be reached via 121 steps.
Landscape
Along the southern and western edges of Mount Sokol, the Besedické skály form two sandstone labyrinths: Kalich and Chléviště. The Chléviště area contains narrow gorges and rock shelters; numerous viewpoints offer views over the Jizera Valley.
The Kalich rock labyrinth consists of five gorges and contains an altar carved into the rock, featuring a chalice and the year 1638.
History
The Zbirohy Castle ruins were built on Zbirohy Rock in the 14th century and are located in the administrative area of Koberovy. The residential tower of the castle ruins is known by the name Kazatelnice. The site is freely accessible all year round.
Trails
The six-kilometre Kolem Besedických skal circular route runs along an asphalt road and offers views of Kozákov, the Klokočské skály and Trosky Castle.
A 10-kilometre section of the Zlatá stezka Českého ráje leads through Koberovy and continues via Hamštejn to Kozákov.
The signposted cycle route through Koberovy ends in the Jizera Valley, where it connects to the Greenway Jizera. Another signposted cycle route passes the chapel of Besedice, continuing via Michovka to Zbirohy and its castle ruins.
Events
The Lesní běh Kalichem was held in 2023 as its 46th edition and again in 2024 at the Areál Kalich Besedice in Koberovy.
