Vilantice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A specific way to explore the surroundings of Vilantice is cycle route 4085: it runs from Žireč near Dvůr Králové via Dubenec, Vilantice, Velký Vřešťov, Hořice, Holovousy and Libín to Konecchlumí.

Culture and History

In Chotěborky, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the most significant architectural monument. It has a preserved southern Gothic portal dating from the first half of the 14th century. The bell tower also contains a smaller death bell, donated in July 1928 by the Holan couple from Hustířany. The church dominates the small village of Chotěborky from a hilltop.

In the middle of the village square stands the column of Saint John of Nepomuk. It probably dates from 1730 and may have been created by Matyáš Braun or his workshop. The birthplace of František Xaver Dušek is a Neoclassical solid construction with stucco decoration on the façade. The settlement of Chotěbořice, which was important in the Middle Ages, fell into ruin; only the church complex has survived.

Routes

Cycle route 4116 runs from Chotěborky via Hustířany, Velichovky, Litič and Zaloňovna to Kuks. Thus, in addition to route 4085 running through Vilantice, the places along this connection are also identified as regional destinations.

Nature and Landscape

The Kříž u Chotěborek viewpoint, located by a wayside cross, offers views of Zvičina, Podkrkonoší, the Orlické Mountains and Kunětická hora. The lady's-slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus) is designated as a protected species in Hustířanský les.

Events

The Hudební léto Chotěborky festival offers concerts in historic churches in Chotěborky and Dubenec. The festival of Baroque and classical music will take place for the 32nd time in 2026.
