Hlásná Třebaň combines its location on the left bank of the Berounka with the landscape of the Český kras and an unusually diverse history. The village lies on the edge of the Český kras Protected Landscape Area; in addition, the Karlštejn National Nature Reserve also encompasses the cadastral area of Hlásná Třebaň.
Nature and Landscape
The Karlštejn National Nature Reserve contains world-famous Palaeozoic geological profiles and palaeontological sites, as well as above-ground and underground karst features. The Geology Educational Trail begins in Hlásná Třebaň, is approximately 39 km long and is mainly used as a cycle route. Along it, you can determine the order of the stops yourself or choose only part of the route.
A cycling route in the Berounsko region also starts here: it leads from Hlásná Třebaň over a pedestrian bridge to Zadní Třebaň and then along the railway line to Řevnice. The EV4 cycle route runs in the direction of Hlásná Třebaň.
History and Villagescape
The area where Hlásná Třebaň is located was already settled in the Early and Late Bronze Age and during the Hallstatt period. The first mention of the village in historical sources dates from the year 1000. In 1357, Charles IV bought the village and incorporated it into the newly established Karlštejn Castle estate.
At the end of the 19th century, Hlásná Třebaň was a small, predominantly agricultural community with several farmsteads featuring gates in the Baroque rural style, as well as houses around a village green with a chapel. Hlásná Třebaň also retains a section of the line fortifications from 1936–1937, which is a historical testament to Czechoslovak defence efforts.
At the end of the 1930s, Hlásná Třebaň became a popular holiday resort.
Traditions and Community Life
A Masopust described as traditional was announced for 7 February 2026 in Hlásná Třebaň and Rovina. As part of the Masopust announced for the same day, the zabíjačkové hody will begin at 3:30 p.m. in front of the municipal office.
The municipality's cultural programme for 2026 lists the Staročeské máje of TJ Sokol Hlásná Třebaň for 16 May. Hasoběh of SDH Hlásná Třebaň is also listed in the municipality's cultural programme for 2026. Pálení čarodějnic at the lower weir, organised by SDH Hlásná Třebaň, is listed for 30 April 2026. A Dětský den described as traditional was also announced for children and their parents in 2026.
Transport Connections
From Zadní Třebaň station, there is a connection to Prague via railway line 171 Praha–Beroun; the journey to central Prague takes 38 minutes, and trains run every half hour.
