Čilec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Čilec is a small village in the Polabí region, about 6 km from Nymburk in the direction of Milovice. The village square is home to the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, built in 1903, which is the dominant landmark there.

Culture

The Soukromé Čilecké Muzeum is located in three rooms of the historic House No. 38 in Čilec. It displays electrical consumer appliances and household equipment from the 19th and 20th centuries and is open several times a year on special occasions.

History

Artefacts from the prehistoric settlement of Čilec were brought to the National Museum in Prague in 1931. The former fortress of Čilec has not been preserved. Another historical connection is provided by the Tyl amateur theatre ensemble, which was associated with Čilec in the Nymburk District in 1923.

Surroundings

The surroundings of Čilec offer opportunities for hiking. The monument to Ladislav Somr is signposted along cycle route No. 8149. Čilec also has a nohejbal court.
