Srinjine: Apartments and Holiday Homes

Srinjine has a history dating back to the year 852. The settlement is recorded in a document issued by Prince Trpimir on 4 March 852; at the beginning of the history of Poljica, Srinjine was one of the 12 katuns. In the village centre stands the parish church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The present-day church was built in 1863 on the site of an earlier church documented since 1413. The original width of Diocletian's Road has also been preserved only in Srinjine.

Landscape

The surrounding area of Srinjine is located in Dalmatia. Nearby are Perun, Veliki Kabal, Kičere and Botajna. Diocletian's Road follows the old bed of the Vilar stream through the Vilar Valley between the hills of Sridivica and Perun. The Diocletian's Road trail runs from Žrnovnica to Srinjine.

Culture

The surrounding area of Srinjine is home to the Archaeological Museum and the Mestrovic Gallery. Sveti Ivan and Sveti Luka are also nearby. At the western end of the road through the Vilar Valley, a relief of the Illyrian god Silvanus is set into the wall of a family house.

Lišnjak is an unexplored Roman site near a spring in Srinjine. According to a local legend, the estate of Diocletian and a large fishpond were located at the spring at Lišnjak in Srinjine.

Routes

The Poljički Krug cycling route continues through the Vilar Gorge towards Srinjine and Tugare. The route runs entirely along paved roads.
