Culture
The new parish church of Saint Luke the Evangelist was built from 1907 to 1912. It stands on the road in the centre of Trnbusi and is built of finely hewn stone.
The old parish church of Saint Luke is considered a 16th-century building erected on an older sacred site. It stands in the western part of the parish. After the new parish church was built, it became the cemetery church; it has a bell tower with a single bell.
The protected rural ensemble of Trnbusi (Rodići) is listed under code Z-6694. Beside the Church of Saint Luke are stećci, which are interpreted as possible battle scenes and probably date from the late 14th or early 15th century.
History
In the Middle Ages, Trnbusi belonged to the Poljica-Katun of Gornji Dolac, also known as Gornje Polje.
Things to do
A jeep safari visits Trnbusi and organises a barbecue in the old village below Mosor. During this off-road excursion, it presents old Dalmatian village architecture and traditional ways of life.
