Culture
The Church of Blessed Ivan of Trogir in Dugobabe was consecrated in 1912 and restored in 1960, 1976–77, and 2000. The Church of St Ivan Trogirski is also under preventive protection under Code P-1879. The main altar of the Church of Blessed John of Trogir in Dugobabe was created by Ante Frank in 1959.
St Ivan Trogirski is the patron saint of Dugobabe; the saint has been venerated there since the time of the Diocese of Trogir. A patron saint’s feast in Dugobabe included a procession around the church with the statue of the saint.
Festivals and Cuisine
The Feast of the Sacred Heart is celebrated annually on Sunday rather than Friday, accompanied by a special Mass and a procession. Guests and relatives gather for lamb and other festive dishes.
Historically, bread made from barley, millet, and krupnik, as well as polenta, potatoes, cheese, and milk, formed the basis of the diet in Dugobabe.
Landscape
Dugobabe has no flowing watercourses, but numerous wells. A large village pond has been recorded there since the 16th century.
