Brist has an old village with the remains of a medieval stećak, the stone houses of the former settlement, and the ruins of the Baroque Church of St. Margaret. A Gothic-vaulted apse and tomb slabs of the Kačić family have been preserved; according to local tradition, one of the surrounding houses is considered to be the birthplace of Andrija Kačić Miošić. The old Church of St. Margaret dates from 1751, incorporates the apse of an earlier church, contains 18th-century tombs of the Kačić family, and has been protected by the state as a cultural monument since 1966.

Brist is located on the 13-kilometre-long Lungomare coastal promenade, which connects Drvenik, Zaostrog, Podaca, Brist, and Gradac. The route runs along beaches, parks, olive groves, and cultural attractions.
Brist is associated with the mosaic “Life to Life: Sun, Earth, Sea, Our Life”, an artistic legacy of the painter Mladen Veža. It was created in the 1960s and 1970s from ceramic fragments found on Brist beach.
