Povile has pebble, concrete and rocky beaches. There are freshwater springs on the beach, and several restaurants on the main road or by the water serve fish specialities. There is also a campsite directly by the sea, shaded by pine trees.

Those who choose Povile as their destination and want to rent a holiday apartment therefore have a clear accommodation preference.

On site

The Port of Povile is open to local public transport. There is both an old and a new mooring facility for boats.

Culture

A tunera is a tall wooden coastal observation ladder from which fishermen looked out for tuna. Historically, Povile had two tunera fishing observation structures. Two observation structures at Cape Sveta Magdalena and Puntica Beach preserve the memory of Povile's fishing heritage.

St Magdalene Church stands by the sea at the entrance to Povile; it is the settlement's patron church. The church was probably built in the 16th century and has been restored.

Trails

The trail Od izvora do Frankopana begins in Povile. A circular route on this trail is approximately eight kilometres long. Important points include the Gradina viewpoint, the old town of Ledenice and Žrnovnica.

The Waves Trail also begins in Povile. It is 30 kilometres long and follows the coast via existing paths, promenades and roads through settlements. Ledenice Fort is a prominent landmark on the Cliff Trail.
