Porat: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Porat is connected to a protected harbor that served as a refuge for ships. The village is home to the Franciscan Monastery of Saint Mary Magdalene, which is registered as a listed cultural monument.

Culture

The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene within the monastery was built in the mid-16th century. A museum in the basement preserves art and household objects depicting the historical life of the Third Order of Saint Francis. In the monastery courtyard, a lapidarium displays Croatian Glagolitic stone monuments, including the Baška Tablet and the Valun Tablet.

History is also present throughout the wider Dubašnica area: a Liburnian hillfort has been preserved near Porat. The surrounding area is also home to Fulfinum Forum, Fulfinum Mirine, Pesja Beach, Fortičina in Omišalj, Biserujka, and the island of Krk. In the immediate vicinity of Porat are Vela Riva Beach and St. Apolinar.
