Čara is known for its winemaking tradition, especially for the indigenous Pošip grape variety associated with the town. A cooperative winery stands on the edge of the field; family-run wineries offer tastings, often combined with local olive oil and other delicacies. The centre of Čara includes, among other things, the parish church of St Peter, a centuries-old cypress protected by law, and a monument to the Crnomir brothers associated with local legends about the resistance against the Venetian prince.

The traditional knight's game Kumpanjija is performed annually in Čara on 25 July, with music, dancing and ceremonial costumes.
