In Krunčići, an official Istria-Bike route leads to a pond in the village after 2.8 kilometers. The route is 29.6 kilometers long in total, is described as easy, has 375 meters of elevation gain, and is suitable for mountain bikes, e-bikes, and trekking bikes.
Activities
The Staza kapetana Morgana is a circular route described as difficult. It runs from Rovinjsko Selo via Sošići, Krunčići, Mrgani, and Kanfanar to Okreti, is 25.2 kilometers long in total, and includes 264 meters of elevation gain. This route also includes a 1.7-kilometer section between Juralski brig and Krunčići.
There is also an educational trail along the Limski Canal that can be used on foot or by bicycle.
Wine
Vina Matošević operates a cellar and tasting room at Krunčići 2. There, a 1.5-hour portfolio tasting includes a tour of the winery, an introduction to winemaking, a tasting of the current wine range, and Istria-inspired finger food. Matošević began with his garage winery in Krunčići in the mid-1990s.
The Anima barrique Chardonnay from 1998 received the Studec Award as the best white wine in Croatia at the time.
Culture and History
The traditional buildings in Krunčići are stone structures with or without a baladura, featuring stone cornices and simple profiles around the openings. These traditional buildings often include simple cisterns crowned with stone.
Krug lies north of Krunčići. Ceramic fragments from the Bronze and Iron Ages found there indicate a fortified hilltop settlement.
Complete urns with cremated remains found east of the road below Krug are considered characteristic of the Iron Age.
In the wider regional area near Sveti Lovreč stands the Church of Saint Lawrence. It dates from the 8th century; its Romanesque bell tower was added in the 11th century.
Limska gradina, a prehistoric archaeological site, lies between Krunčići and Jural. Limska Gradina is located on the northern edge of a plateau at 158 meters above sea level and overlooks the end of the Limski Canal. The fortified hilltop settlement is protected by natural cliffs on its southern and western sides, while dry-stone walls protected the entrances from the north and east.
Nature
In the surrounding area, Romualdova špilja is protected as a karst phenomenon and as the habitat of a colony of large bats. The cave contains prehistoric human artifacts as well as remains of extinct animals.
