Rebići: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

A 33-kilometre cycling route runs through Rebići, featuring asphalt, gravel and macadam sections and passing through nearby villages and pine forests. Trail 631, which also runs through Rebići, is 33 kilometres long, climbs 481 metres in elevation and is described as taking three hours. The section of Trail 631 beyond Rebići descends on a macadam road through pine forests towards Puntera. Trail 631 Barban continues uphill through Rebići towards Hrboka.

Nature and trails

In the surrounding area, the cycling route The Lost Crown of King Tomislav forms a 17.5-kilometre circular route with 470 metres of elevation gain. The Tepla stran–Puntera–Blaz trail is also nearby: it is 7.25 kilometres in one direction, or 14.5 kilometres as a round trip, and has 450 metres of elevation gain. Hiking, trekking, horseback riding and mountaineering are possible on this route.

At Blaz Bay, drinking water flows into the sea. Visible remains of five former mills have also been preserved there near the sea.

Culture and history

The Barban Visitor Centre is housed in the old town loggia and presents the equestrian tradition of Trka na prstenac using multimedia. It showcases the history of the competition, its winners, equipment, traditional costumes and educational films. Visitors can use virtual reality, 3D glasses and a lance there to hit the ring.

The Church of Our Lady of Good Health in Hreljići serves Rebići. It is a single-nave church with three marble altars.

The Barbanski rančin is listed in the Croatian Register of Cultural Goods; examples are kept at the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula. Replicas of the Barbanski rančin are made as local souvenirs, based on a 11th-century earring found at Gradina near Barban.

Regional cuisine and tradition

Barbanski kolač is a traditional cake from the Barban area. The ring-shaped wedding cake is traditionally carried by the leaders of the wedding party in their hands.
