On the hill above the ferry landing in Porozina are the ruins of the Monastery of St. Nicholas and a Gothic church from the 15th century. An ancient lighthouse called Pharum insulae once stood on this hill.
A church was frequently looted and almost burned down in the 16th century. The monastery buildings were abandoned in 1843. Features of Renaissance architecture can be recognized in the remaining walls.
