The history of Miholašćica dates back to Roman times. The remains of a Roman villa with mosaics lie on the sandy beach of Miholašćica Bay.

Culture and History

The Sv. Kristofor site in Miholašćica is a prehistoric hillfort that continued to be used until the 13th century. The archaeological site of Saint Christopher is listed as protected cultural heritage under registration number Z-1767. Around 1200, the Sv. Kristofor hillfort formed the basis for a Romanesque church dedicated to Saint Christopher.

In Miholašćica, Villa Rusticae–Studenčići is listed as an archaeological site and cultural heritage property. The existing Church of Saint Michael stands above the seashore of Miholašćica and gave the settlement its name. Sv. Krstipul (Saint Christopher) is a point of interest on Stage 6 of the Via Apsyrtides and is located on the hill north of Miholašćica.

Miholašćica Beach is designated as an organised bathing area R1. The R1 bathing area includes an existing pebble shore.

Landscape and Paths

The plan for Miholašćica protects the existing indigenous vegetation, the maquis and the rocky ground. Within the settlement structure, it also protects existing olive groves, vineyards and gardens.

Dry-stone walls have been preserved in the olive grove and vineyard landscape. The plan provides for marked hiking trails with possible small rest areas.
