UÅ¡tica is located between the Sava and Una rivers, opposite Jasenovac. The village is one of ten settlements in the Municipality of Jasenovac, whose area lies almost entirely within Lonjsko Polje Nature Park.

Culture and history
From 1942 to 1945, Uštica was the site of a Ustaše camp for Roma and was also part of the Jasenovac camp system. At the Roma camp site associated with Uštica, at least 17,000 Roma were deported, tortured and killed during the Second World War.
The UÅ¡tica Roma Memorial Center is a memorial to the Roma victims of the genocide during the Second World War. The center serves education and information purposes and supports further research into the fate of the Roma. The House of Lamentation is considered the place where Roma women and children were imprisoned.
Memorial sites
The Roma cemetery with 21 mass graves is located directly next to the Roma Memorial Center. A black marble memorial plaque marks the cemetery and commemorates the 21 graves. The Jasenovac Memorial Site is responsible for the Roma cemetery in UÅ¡tica.
A monument to Hajrija Imeri Mihaljić stands in the park behind the Roma Memorial Center. On August 2, 2024, a Samudaripen memorial ceremony was held at the Roma cemetery in Uštica.
Location and directions
From Jasenovac, the Roma cemetery in UÅ¡tica can be reached by crossing the Sava Bridge, following the embankment along the Una, and continuing in the direction of the Orthodox cemetery on Tratinska Street.
