Krapje: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In 1990, Krapje was added to the Croatian Register of Cultural Monuments because of its exceptionally valuable collection of old wooden houses.

In 1995, Krapje was declared a village of architectural heritage.

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Krapje can save the village directly for their own travel planning.

Culture

The Krapje Visitor Centre is located on the grounds of a restored Posavina wooden house. It includes a multimedia hall, a small gallery, a souvenir shop and sanitary facilities, and provides information about Krapje and Lonjsko polje Nature Park.

The ethnological collection of the Palaić family in Krapje comprises more than 170 objects, mainly textiles, woodwork and ceramics.

The collection illustrates the way of life, clothing, livelihood, knowledge and skills of a typical family in Krapje.

Krapje also continues the tradition of holding an event every year in mid-September as part of the European Heritage Days.

Nature

The Borderers’ Trail begins in Krapje, leads towards the Orlinci pasture and continues to the Krapje Đol ornithological reserve.

The Borderers’ Trail is 5 kilometres long; the walk is estimated to take approximately two and a half to three hours.

Krapje Đol is Croatia’s largest nesting site for spoonbills.

The Posavina horse is an indigenous Croatian horse breed.

Getting Around

Bicycle rental is available at the Krapje Visitor Centre.

The Posavina Horse programme can take visitors from the Krapje Information Centre to pasture areas in Mužilovčica or Repušničko polje, accompanied by a guide or educator.
