Nature and Trails

The Mlinica cultural trail is approximately 2 kilometres long and accessible from Drežnik Grad. Information boards and signposts accompany the route.

The Cycling Route R35 is a 27.9-kilometre circular route with an elevation gain of 102 metres and approaches Drežnik Grad from Čatrnja via a dirt track. Cycling Route 37 begins in Drežnik Grad and is 26.9 kilometres long as a circular route.

Culture and History

The parish church of St Anthony of Padua, built in 1883, stands in the village centre. On 20 December 2025, the renovated church was consecrated together with a new stone altar.

Stari Grad Drežnik played an important role in the defence of the Frankopan estates against the Ottomans. The round keep of Stari Grad Drežnik is an example of 15th- and 16th-century defensive architecture. Stari Grad Drežnik offers visitors an authentic experience of an early Renaissance castle.

The Stari Grad Drežnik fortress stands on a cliff above a steep river gorge. Stari grad Drežnik is considered a 12th-century defensive fortress and one of the preserved historical attractions of the Plitvice Valleys. The large tower has been restored; work was also carried out on the defensive walls, the roof and the remains of the inner tower.
