Dolni Pasarel: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature

Lake Pasarel is used for walks and picnics, and a forest path also runs along its northern shore. Fishing and swimming are prohibited at the lake because it lies within a water-supply zone. Bus 3 stops at the bridge over Lake Pasarel; parking spaces for cars are available there.

Garvanets, a protected natural landmark on the eastern edge of Dolni Pasarel, is nearby. Garvanets can be reached by car. Paths lead to the upper meadows and viewpoints overlooking the Iskar Gorge and Mount Plana.

Hiking and Cycling

Hiking and cycling trails from Pasarel lead into the surrounding mountains and beech forests. These include a 4–5-hour route via Polovrak, a marked route to the nearby monastery that takes around 40 minutes, and marked approaches to the Peyo-Buka Hut, which take approximately 60–90 minutes.

The route from Dolni Pasarel to Polovrak climbs gently through pine groves, meadows, and oak forest. From Polovrak, views extend towards Sofia, Stara Planina, Vitosha, Plana, Rila, and the Iskar Reservoir. A motocross training track has also been built near Dolni Pasarel.

Culture

The Church of St George the Victorious in Dolni Pasarel was built around the beginning of the 17th century. The village also includes the Chapel of St George the Victorious, 2 km northwest of the village. It remains open for prayer and worship.

The Pasarelci dance ensemble continues the village traditions and takes part in local village festivals.
