Moskovets: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The settlement of present-day Moskovets was formerly known as Tatare. Chateau Copsa is located in Moskovets, a winery founded in the Rose Valley in 1998; the complex includes a winery. Chateau Copsa is described as combining the grandeur of a medieval stone castle with oval towers.

Culture and History

Moskovets was settled by Tatars in the second half of the 16th century, around 1580. Before the Unification of Bulgaria, Tatare had one of the largest communal grazing areas in the Nahiya of Gyopsa in the Karlovo area. After the Unification of Bulgaria, Turkish residents of Tatare began emigrating to the Ottoman Empire, while Bulgarians from nearby villages settled there.

A documented Trifon Zarezan celebration in Moskovets included performances by the Karavelski Slavey women's group and the Veselyatsi men's group. A documented Trifon Zarezan vine-pruning ritual was also held in Moskovets, during which the vineyard was blessed with red wine.

Wine and Culinary Delights

Rose gardens near Moskovets provide hand-picked rose petals. The petals are dried under controlled conditions to preserve their beneficial ingredients and natural color.
