Culture and History

The Klisura Historical Museum preserves the original bell used to announce the April Uprising on 20 April 1876. An entire floor of the museum is dedicated to the town’s involvement in the April Uprising. The exhibition extends across three levels and covers art, local life, livelihoods, culture, and the April Uprising.

The Pavurdzhieva House offers an interactive presentation of life in Klissura in the mid-19th century. The house includes a preserved household rose distillery; visitors can also watch a short film there about rose distillation. The Kozinarova House was restored in 1976–1977 and converted into a museum site. The Kozinarova House preserves the well associated with the death of Tsana Kozinarova.

The Chervenakova House showcases an authentic grocery shop from the early 20th century and was the first house to be completed.

Tourist Route III of Karlovo Municipality includes a visit to the Klisura Historical Museum, the Kozinarova House, and the Borimechkata Monument.

Hiking

Klisura and the surrounding area are suitable for hiking. A route from Klisura to Eho Hut is listed as a 5–5.5-hour mountain route.

Cycling

Klisura is designated as a starting point for mountain biking excursions in the southern foothills of Sredna Gora. The routes there range from beginner-friendly unpaved paths to technical trails.
