Balkanets: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Zhalna Eco Trail begins in the center of Balkanets, reaches Beklemeto in about two hours, follows the Zhalna River through cascades and old beech forest, and connects with the Roman Via Traiana. From there, it is possible to return toward the village in 2–3 hours.

The Zhalna Eco Trail lies within the protected buffer zone of Central Balkan. Motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, and buggies are prohibited on the route.

Balkanets has a monument to 13 Russian soldiers. It stands in a small pine park at their burial site.
