Chiflik provides access to routes leading to Central Balkan National Park and the adjacent Kozya Stena Reserve, where edelweiss continues to grow.
Kozya Stena Reserve is located within the Chiflik area and covers 904 hectares. It was established in 1987 to protect endangered edelweiss and old beech-fir forests. Around 40 plant species in the reserve are listed as rare or endangered. There are also around 68 breeding bird species, including rare birds of prey. Kozya Stena is also an important migration area for wild goats.
Trails and Activities
The route from Chiflik to Haydushka Pesen Hut follows 3.5 km of paved road and can be covered on foot, by bicycle or by car.
The marked trail from Haydushka Pesen Hut to Kozya Stena Hut takes 2 hours and 30 minutes, leads through steep terrain and has a large elevation difference. Crossing Kozya Stena Reserve on foot is permitted only on marked trails.
Culture and History
Ceramics and artificial burial mounds are cited as evidence that a Thracian settlement may have existed in Chiflik. Millstones, troughs and other stone objects are produced through stoneworking on the Kamacharska River.
Historically, porters from Chiflik transported ceramics from Troyan, wooden objects, woven carpets and blankets to the Aegean, Thrace and the Danube Plain.

Chiflik is located on the upper reaches of the Beli Osam River.
