Kraymorie: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

Underwater investigations near Cape Chiroza uncovered a shipwreck from the 18th to 19th century. Material from the 5th to 1st century BC, the Roman period and the Middle Ages was also found near Cape Chiroza.

On the Foros Peninsula, remains of the ancient and medieval fortress and the Burgos/Poros harbour have been preserved. The foundations of three buildings have also been uncovered, including two administrative buildings and a luxury villa. The combination of nature and ancient history on Foros is suitable for cultural and educational tourism.

Nature

In the Poda protected area, a terrace at the visitor centre and a visitor trail are mentioned for birdwatching. Binoculars, spotting scopes, observation hides and accompaniment by ornithologists are also mentioned. Approximately 315 bird species have been recorded in an area of around one square kilometre.

The Chengene Skele locality includes part of Kraymorie and was designated as protected in 1995 because of its rare birdlife. The Foros eco-zone is located directly next to Kraymorie and is suitable for birdwatching and quiet excursions into nature. It lies on Lake Mandra, whose water surface covers approximately 1,300 hectares.

The Chengene Skele complex is associated with a café and a restaurant where specialities are prepared according to established recipes.
