Bryastovets: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Bryastovets–Draganovo–Izvorishte Forest Park is recognized as an attraction by the Municipality of Burgas and occupies the southeastern slopes of Aitos Mountain, which is part of the Eastern Stara Planina. Nature

The forest associated with the Bryastovets–Draganovo–Izvorishte Park helps protect Atanasovsko Lake and the salt pans from flooding. Atanasovsko Lake, northeast of Burgas, is a maintained reserve and a Ramsar Convention site.

Culture

The Svetlina 1928 community cultural centre in Bryastovets was founded in 1928. Its building was constructed in 1958 on the site of a former dairy. The cultural centre has a year-round programme focusing on the culture, customs and traditions of the foreign residents permanently living in Bryastovets.

The Church of Saint Athanasius in Bryastovets is recorded as dating from 1870. It has also been included in photographer Radoslav Parvanov's project, which aims to make its condition known to the public and raise funds for its restoration.

Getting Around

Route 32 runs from Burgas via Izvorishte and Bryastovets to Draganovo. Route III-6009 leads from the Kableshkovo–Burgas/Cherno More–Rudnik corridor towards Miroulyubovo and Bryastovets, while the municipal road BGS2040 continues from the Miroulyubovo–Bryastovets road to Draganovo.

A cycling tour leads from Bryastovets onward towards Atanasovsko Lake with a panoramic descent. A cycling tour also includes a lunchtime stop at a snack bar in Bryastovets.

Excursions

An excursion route leads through Rudnik and Bryastovets to Izvorishte. It includes a 3-kilometre forest walk around Izvorishte with panoramic views of Burgas Bay and the lakes.
