Holiday Apartment in Njemanica: Mountain Landscape and Cultural Heritage

Njemanica is considered a sunny, often windy mountain hamlet near the village of Hreša outside Sarajevo, at an altitude of around 1,200 metres. The EcoFutura eco-village is located in the village. Nature

Trebević reaches an elevation of 1,629 metres and has a combined bobsleigh and luge track. Competitions were held on this track during the 1984 Winter Olympics. In addition, walking and hiking trails on Trebević lead through dense forests, open meadows, and mountainous terrain. Crepoljsko offers visitors numerous routes for walking, hiking, and cycling through dense coniferous forest.

Visitors can also cycle and hike in Vučja Luka. The experience there also includes mushroom picking and learning about various teas and herbs. A cycle route currently under construction is intended to connect Stari Grad, Istočni Stari Grad, and Pale.

Culture

Hodidjed is a medieval fortified town in the Bulozi area of the municipality of Istočni Stari Grad. It is located above the confluence of the Paljanska Miljacka and Mokranjska Miljacka rivers and was the seat of the Bosnian nobleman Pavle Radinović. The first written mention of Hodidjed dates from 1428.

In Hreša, in the municipality of Istočni Stari Grad, there is a stećak necropolis with 22 tombstones. Eleven are chest-shaped and eleven are saddle-roof-shaped. The stećak necropolis in Hreša also contains seven stećci with artistically designed high-relief ornaments.

Mramorje near Njemanica-Luke is recorded as a medieval necropolis in an Orthodox cemetery. At Mramorje, three stones recorded there are aligned from west to east.

Traditions

The “Vučiji Vajat” ethno-village in Bulozi offers a natural setting and homemade food. Since 2011, Vučja Luka has hosted Jagnjijada, a gastronomic tourism event dedicated to preserving the traditions of livestock breeding and agriculture. Jagnjijada includes a competition for preparing lamb dishes, particularly dishes made from lamb.
