Nature

Milančev buk waterfall is one of the waterfalls and cascades distributed throughout the village of Martin Brod. In the Martin Brod basin, islands and banks made of tufa have formed in three to five widened sections of the riverbed. As a result, various forms of water meet within the village: cascades, individual waterfalls, a diversified riverbed, as well as islands and banks made of tufa. Milančev buk is a waterfall; Martin Brod is the village across which the waterfalls and cascades are distributed.

Culture and history

Martin Brod is home to the Serbian Orthodox Rmanj Monastery, which contains remnants of the original frescoes. It is designated as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bučnica, a natural eco-laundry, was historically connected with the waterfall complex of Martin Brod. For more than half a century, the Una Regatta has promoted the natural beauty of Una National Park and Una-Sana Canton. The 52nd International Tourist Una Regatta was opened at Camp Lučica near Martin Brod.

Experiences

The Martin Brod–Kulen Vakuf fly-fishing area stretches for 12 kilometres. The Martin Brod–Kulen Vakuf rafting stage is rated difficulty level I–II. The Lučica area also has a marked hiking trail called Martinova staza. At Entrance No. 5 in Martin Brod, admission includes a guided tour of the waterfalls.

Getting there

In 2025, after infrastructure works were completed, the access roads to the Štrbački buk and Martin Brod visitor zones were paved.
