The traditional literary event “Dani Skendera Kulenovića” has been held in Bosanski Petrovac for more than 20 years. History

In nearby Oštrelj, Titov voz was declared a national cultural monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2013. The Crkvina archaeological site in Kolunić is also located within the municipality of Bosanski Petrovac. It contains the remains of a medieval church and a necropolis with stećci; the site is designated as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nearby Stari grad Bjelaj, also known as Bilaj, comprises a southern medieval section and a northern Ottoman section. The site thus preserves two distinct historical areas.

Nature

In addition to its cultural monument, Oštrelj offers a circular hiking trail of around 3.5 kilometres. The easier route to the summit is approximately 2 kilometres long. In Vrtoče, caves such as Mala jama, Avdijina jama and Gaćina jama are among the area’s natural features. Karst sinkholes, also known as ponikven, add to the landscape of this region.
