The New Castle in Grodno was built from 1737 to 1742 as a royal residence and venue for the general Sejm sessions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Today, it houses permanent and temporary exhibitions on the castle, regional history, religious art, weapons and the region’s natural environment.
The Church of Saints Boris and Gleb, also known as Kalozha Church, dates from a significantly older period. It was built in the 1180s on the high right bank of the Neman opposite the castle hill, is on UNESCO’s Tentative List for Belarus and remains an active place of worship.

Culture
The main exhibition of the Maxim Bogdanovich Museum is located in a wooden house built in 1888. The building is a historical monument of local significance and, as part of Grodno’s historical centre, is included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of Belarus. The museum presents materials about the life and work of the prominent Belarusian poet Maksim Bogdanovich.
The Museum of the History of Gorodnitsa is located in the so-called Master’s House (“Bosniac House”), a typical residential building from the period when Gorodnitsa was developed in the 1760s. It is dedicated to the reforming activities of Antoni Tyzenhauz, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania’s court treasurer, in Grodno. The building has the status of a monument of republican significance; the Master’s House is also regarded as an example of the first standardised residential development in Belarus.
History
The Old Castle in Grodno is a unique monument of Belarusian architecture and archaeology. The gallery of the Old Castle leads to an observation platform with beautiful views of the Neman and the city.

The official list of routes includes the “Дорога памяти” route as a bus-and-hiking route from Grodno to Naumovichy. The route runs for 21 km from Grodno to the destination and takes 40 minutes.
