Jarinu: Cycling Routes, Strawberries and Cultural Heritage
Accommodation in Jarinu
Jarinu brings together rural production, two-wheeled sports and historic buildings. Along with Atibaia, Indaiatuba, Itatiba, Itupeva, Jundiaí, Louveira, Morungaba, Valinhos and Vinhedo, the city is part of the Circuito das Frutas. Strawberries are especially prominent in its fruit production. This gives you a choice of different focuses when planning your trip: you can make cycling and outdoor experiences, cultural history or regional produce the centrepiece.
Get out on a bike and enjoy two-wheeled sports
Parque Orestes Lorencini has new trails that you can use by bicycle or on foot. This offers different ways to experience the park: getting around on your own bike or going for a walk. Jarinu is also considered a centre for two-wheeled sports such as motocross, bicicross and mountain biking. If you are particularly interested in cycling and two-wheeled sports, you will find two different ways to get involved: trails in the park and a sporting focus that covers several disciplines.
Horseback riding is also among the experiences on offer. Coração a Galope organises rides on its own grounds in Jarinu. Equo Tumã offers full-moon rides by prior arrangement. They start at 7:30 p.m., last about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and are intended for groups of up to eight people; dinner is served there afterwards. These details make this offer especially specific if you are considering a ride at a set time with a limited group size. For a trip combining several interests, you can distinguish it from the cycling and walking trails at Parque Orestes Lorencini.
Historic buildings and local history
Jarinu’s historical and architectural heritage includes Estação do Campo Largo, Casarão da Rua José Inácio and Centro Histórico e Cultural Divanir Vitório Contesini. These three names give you specific places to explore if you would like to add architectural and local history to your stay. Together with the sporting opportunities, they offer a different picture of Jarinu from one shaped solely by rural production or outdoor activities. You can therefore decide, based on your interests, whether cultural history should be an important part of your trip.
Fruit, strawberries and regional produce
Jarinu’s rural production is based mainly on fruit, with strawberries especially worth highlighting. Sítio Santo Antônio offers a direct connection to this: visitors can pick and taste strawberries straight from the plant. Sítio Boa Vista makes artisanal cheese, yoghurt and requeijão. The milk comes from cows kept exclusively on pasture. Visitors can also discover fresh products made naturally and by hand.
Another culinary stop is Delícias do Milho, which offers a gastronomic experience centred on regional corn products. These include pamonhas, curau, cakes and corn juices. Adega e Empório Falcão offers a country-style lunch as well as products made on the farm: cachaça distilled in a copper still, cheese, salami, wines, liqueurs and sweets. These offerings differ in focus—from fresh strawberries and artisanal dairy products to dishes and products made from corn or items from the farm shop.
