Jardinópolis brings together a historic museum in the town center, a religious festival tradition, cultural landscape heritage and a route that combines nature observation with railway history. It also offers fishing tournaments and fishing-related activities. When choosing a vacation rental, it helps to have a clear reason for your trip: would you like your stay to focus more on culture and festival traditions, railway history or fishing?

Cultural History and Festival Traditions

In the center of Jardinópolis is the Casa da Cultura “Paulo Portugal,” a local history museum. The Museu e Casa da Cultura “Dr. Paulo Portugal” opened on July 27, 1985, in a former power and lighting station building. The building had already been constructed in 1912.

The Festa do Senhor Bom Jesus da Lapa is an annual religious tradition in Jardinópolis, established in 1913. Traditionally, the Festa da Lapa concludes on August 6 with a procession from the Igreja da Matriz de Nossa Senhora Aparecida to the Santuário. If you would like to plan your trip around the festival, check the current dates in advance.

Landscape and Railway History

Fazenda Morro Azul is considered part of the cultural landscape heritage of the municipality of Jardinópolis. The town’s history therefore has a connection to its cultural landscape as well as to a museum.

The Trilha Estação a Estação combines nature observation with the history of the former railway line and follows the old tracks between Jardinópolis and Brodowski. The opening walk covered a six-kilometer route along the former railway property of Cia. Mogiana de Estradas de Ferro, between the Jurucê and Visconde de Parnaíba stations. If you plan to take the route, check the current trail conditions.

Fishing with Different Areas of Focus

The Circuito de pesca de Jardinópolis includes themed fishing tournaments for different age groups. These include night tournaments, events for special occasions, and competitions for children and young people up to age 16. For travel groups with children, this specific age limit is a useful point of reference when looking into potential tournament offerings.

Clube de Pesca Peixe & Cia offers sport-fishing ponds and an area for children. There is also a self-service restaurant serving light meals. Fish caught there can be cleaned for eating. This means there are different ways to enjoy fishing: themed competitions on the one hand, and ponds and dining options on the other.
