Maximo Paz combines its agricultural roots with a vibrant cultural and community life. The town is located on Provincial Route 90. Its origins are linked to fields, settlers, immigrants and agricultural work—subjects that offer a distinctive way to explore the town’s history. There is also a community museum, a historic theater, an annual festival and the parish church of San Miguel Arcángel. Depending on whether you are especially interested in local history, architecture or community events, you can discover different sides of Maximo Paz.

Agricultural roots and local history

The museum preserves the historical and cultural heritage of Maximo Paz and hosts rotating exhibitions.

The Cine Teatro Ópera: history and community

Another landmark cultural building is the Cine Teatro Ópera. Built in 1896 as the headquarters of the Sociedad Italiana, it is one of the oldest buildings in Maximo Paz. After being closed for years because of its poor condition, it reopened on June 14, 2025. Today it serves as a cinema and theater, as well as a venue for performances, audiovisual event series and community events throughout the year.

MasVoz is also connected to the Cine Teatro Ópera: MasVoz produces live broadcasts in its streaming and recording studio. The project is open to the entire community, enabling people to produce, record or broadcast their own content. This community connection adds another form of cultural participation to the events program. When planning your trip, you can therefore decide whether you are mainly interested in exploring historic buildings or in contemporary cultural and event activities.

Festival, church and rural surroundings

One annual occasion is the Fiesta Provincial de la Solidaridad. Held every year on January 14 to celebrate the founding anniversary of Maximo Paz, it has taken place since 2011. Neighbors, families and institutions from across the region come together for the event. If you would like to plan your stay around a specific date, January 14 is a useful reference point. The festival offers a different way to experience the town than its museum or historic architecture: the focus is on celebrating as a community.

The parish church of San Miguel Arcángel adds religious architectural history to the cultural attractions. Its foundation stone was laid in 1892, and it was consecrated in 1894. The church’s interior features Gothic elements and religious stained-glass windows. In the rural surroundings of Maximo Paz, Planta Campamentil N° 7502 “Campo Reybet” also welcomes children and teachers from across the province for educational camping experiences. When choosing your vacation rental, a simple question can help: would you like to plan your stay around January 14 and the festival, or choose a date that is not tied to the town’s founding celebration?
