Wine tastings, traditional cuisine and cultural sites give Guaymallén a varied character. When planning your stay, you can focus on wineries and local produce or explore historic sites and event venues. This makes it easy to tailor your trip to your own interests.

Wine and Local Produce

Wine tourism includes several wineries open to visitors. There, visitors can observe the production process and take part in tastings. This offers two different ways to explore: you can learn about production or sample wines on site. Guaymallén is also an important centre for sparkling wine: more than 15 businesses produce it, with annual production totalling 10 million bottles.

A municipal bus tour includes a visit to Bodega SMS in Los Corralitos. The programme includes wine and sparkling wine tastings, as well as a tasting of Kýros chilli-based products. If you include the tour in your travel plans, you can sample a range of flavours in one visit: wines, sparkling wine and spicy products. The tour also includes a visit to a sweet potato producer in the Colonia Molina district.

The combination of wine and gastronomy is also a feature of Guaymallén. The municipal tasting series “De la bodega a tu restó” brings the two together. El Retortuño adds a restaurant serving traditional cuisine, which has been designated by the province as being of cultural and tourist interest and by the Department of Guaymallén as being of heritage interest. For a trip where local cuisine plays an important role, this offers a distinct gastronomic destination alongside the tastings.

Culture and Historic Places

Espacio Cultural Julio Le Parc is next to the old Guaymallén railway station. A bicycle tour through the department’s cultural heritage began there. This is a specific point of reference for anyone interested in culture and a cycling tour; the tour linked its starting point with Guaymallén’s historic and cultural sites.

Casa Museo Molina is located in Guaymallén’s founding area. You will find a different historical point of interest in Capilla del Rosario: Casa AMA is an old house that serves as an event venue in Guaymallén. Inside the house is a large mural honouring San Martín. If you want to explore cultural sites, you can include these varied examples in your selection without limiting yourself to just one type of attraction.

Other historic sites open to visitors include Museo Atelier de Rosas, Parroquia Sagrada Familia and Plaza de las Artes y Flores. They offer more destinations for a culturally focused stay. During the 2024 National Vendimia Festival, the religious ceremony Bendición de los Frutos was held at Predio de la Virgen; it opened the festival’s central events calendar. This event was part of the 2024 calendar and adds a specific festive and religious occasion to the picture of Guaymallén.

Green Belt and Choosing Where to Stay

The range of tourist attractions invites you to explore Guaymallén’s Green Belt. Together with visits to a sweet potato producer and the wine-related experiences, it offers a different perspective on the area from its cultural attractions. When choosing your holiday rental, consider which of these interests you want to prioritise during your stay. For more ideas, you can also explore Corralitos.
