Pittsworth

Discover Pittsworth through its regional history, art and events. The Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village recalls the early development of the town and the surrounding rural district with original buildings, equipment and artefacts. The Pittsworth Art Gallery & Information Centre offers a different perspective, showcasing works by local artists. The Pittsworth Show is of interest if you’re planning a stay around a specific date: it is scheduled for 5 and 6 March 2027.

A glimpse into early development

At the Pittsworth Pioneer Historical Village, the focus is on more than individual objects. Together, original buildings, equipment and artefacts recall the early development of Pittsworth and the surrounding rural district. This brings attention both to the town and to its rural setting. Anyone interested in the history of a region will find several points of connection here: buildings give an impression of what has been preserved, while equipment and artefacts make other aspects of life at the time more tangible. The exhibition can therefore be explored through different interests, without any single object having to represent the whole story.

Art in a range of materials

The Pittsworth Art Gallery & Information Centre showcases paintings, ceramics and woodwork by local artists. The selection therefore extends beyond a single medium: you can take an interest in painted works or focus on the forms and materials of ceramics and wood. The fact that the works are by artists from the region gives the visit a local connection. Together with the historical focus of the Pioneer Historical Village, this offers a cultural perspective on Pittsworth that takes in both the town’s early development and artistic work created locally.

Events with specific dates

The Pittsworth Show is scheduled for 5 and 6 March 2027. If you’d like to combine your trip with this event, the two days provide a specific timeframe for your stay. This differs from a trip focused primarily on cultural sites and their themes. When looking for holiday accommodation, you can therefore first consider whether a set event date or a broader interest in regional history and art is the main reason for your trip.

The Pittsworth Sprints are also among the town’s recurring events. They take place annually; the 4–6 September 2026 edition has now passed. An earlier edition, held on 12, 13 and 14 September 2025, is described in more detail: it was a club event with the status “One Car Sprint”. Vehicles started individually in timed sprints on selected closed roads in Pittsworth, Queensland. The description of this event gives a concrete insight into the format at the time, but it is distinct from the Pittsworth Show scheduled for 2027.

Choosing holiday accommodation in Pittsworth therefore depends on what you’d like to focus on during your trip. A visit around the Pittsworth Show can be planned around its March 2027 dates. For a culture-focused stay, the town’s early development or the work of local artists may be the deciding factor. These different reasons for visiting help you place Pittsworth as a destination without assuming a particular type of accommodation or additional amenities.
