Fife is a destination for travelers who want to combine paved trails, parks and local history in one stay. Options range from short routes to a long, bike-friendly trail; there are also events at Dacca Park and a museum connected to the city’s history. When planning, it helps to first consider whether your trip will focus more on walking and cycling, events or historical discoveries.

Trails and Parks in Fife

Fife’s trails offer opportunities to explore the area on foot or by bike. Nearly all are paved and therefore easily accessible. Among the shorter routes is the 0.25-mile Brookville Gardens Park Trail, which is fully paved. The Five Acre Park Trail is about 0.44 miles long and is also completely paved. The paved Sheffield Trail is 0.68 miles long and connects Brookville Park with the library. These short routes differ not only in length: the Sheffield Trail also connects two named destinations.

For a longer route, consider the 3-mile Hylebos Nature Trail. The wide, paved Interurban Trail extends much farther: it runs 19.1 miles from Fife to Tukwila and is well suited to cycling. These details make the difference between short trails and a longer cycling route clear, without needing to estimate walking or cycling times. Dacca Park also has a spacious, fully paved trail by the sports complex, set on grounds of about 31 hectares. The park also has an off-leash dog park.

Events and Swimming

Fife’s Harvest Festival is a popular fall tradition at Dacca Park. The 2026 program includes a petting zoo and a tractor maze for children; dates and activities may change. Music in the Park is also held at Dacca Park on Tuesdays in July, with live music and free activities. Dates and performers may change here, too.

The Fife Aquatic Center offers recreational swimming for all ages. Designated play areas are available in both the lap pool and the open teaching pool. Since program availability may change, check the latest program details before making plans. Together with the events at Dacca Park, this offers another way to discover Fife beyond its trails and city history.

City History and Notable Places

The Fife History Museum and Cultural Center is located in the former home of Louis Dacca, a member of Fife’s first city council. A rare locomotive is permanently displayed at the museum in Dacca Park. Twenty-six of this model were sold; only four remain today. These details give a museum visit a tangible connection to the city’s history. Agriculture is also part of Fife’s longer history.

Another historical landmark is the Fife Fountain: built in 1914, it originally served as a horse trough. The Poodle Dog Restaurant is a local landmark, established in 1933 and known for its distinctive neon sign. The museum, fountain and restaurant each represent different facets of local history—from early community life and a public structure to a well-known restaurant.

If a festival or the swimming program is important to your plans, check the latest details in advance.
