Grove is located on Grand Lake O' the Cherokees and combines activities on the water with gardens, regional history, and culture. For planning your trip, the question is therefore less about choosing just one attraction and more about the daily rhythm you want: Would you like to spend time by the lake, learn about historic places, stroll through gardens, or combine different interests?

Grand Lake and Activities on the Water

Wolf Creek Park and Boating Facility is located on Grand Lake in Grove. Wolf Creek Park has six boat ramps. Another option on the water is the Honey Creek Area at Grand Lake State Park, with a fishing pier, fish-cleaning station, lighted boat ramp, and a dock for guests. If you would like to experience the lake from more than just the shore, you can join Grand Lake Cruises: Passengers are picked up on site, taken across the lake, and dropped off again after the excursion.

These different options can be selected according to your preferences. If you are planning a more active day, the City of Grove's disc golf course is another possibility; it has 10 tee pads. This allows you to include activities on the water and disc golf in your daily plans and set the focus according to your interests.

Gardens and Paths for a More Relaxed Day of Travel

Lendonwood Gardens comprises eight separate garden areas and more than 80 varieties of false cypress, Chamaecyparis. The eight-acre grounds contain more than 1,200 different plants and shady paths. Lendonwood Gardens is open daily year-round during daylight hours. This means you can include a visit to the gardens in your daily plans regardless of any specific event date.

A special addition is the 0.5-acre Satsuki Garden. Its design combines the three essential elements of Japanese garden design: plants, water, and stone. Anyone interested in landscape design can view both garden attractions as different facets of Grove's green side.

History, Museum, and Stage

Har-Ber Village Museum offers a self-guided tour across six acres with nearly 100 exhibits dating from the mid-19th to the early 20th century. The historic buildings include a schoolhouse, a jail, and more than 30 log cabins and other log structures. Corey House and the adjacent hotel provide a remarkably authentic picture of small-town life in Grove during the early years of Oklahoma's statehood.

Har-Ber Village also includes a 1.9-mile nature trail that is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Take this route into account when planning if you would like to combine your museum visit with a walk.

Cayuga-Splitlog Mission Church is also part of Grove's historic side. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was built in 1896. Guided tours can be arranged by appointment. For the performing arts, there is Playmakers Theatre: The community theater organization in Grove presents live stage productions and offers performing arts classes.

Local Character and Events

Grove Farmers Market offers produce, fresh eggs from free-range hens, pasture-raised meat, and baked goods from local producers and community members. Another annual event is the Fly-In Breakfast organized by the Grove Airport Support Organization. Such offerings complement the attractions with insights into local life, without requiring you to limit your trip exclusively to nature or culture.

Grand Lake, the gardens, historic sites, theater, farmers market, and Fly-In Breakfast offer different ways to experience Grove: You can focus on water, nature, history, culture, or local life.
