Richard C. Peters Park has two piers on the side facing the sound. Richard C. Peters Town Park also has a kayak launch and a nature trail. W. Rodney Knowles Park offers an observation platform on the sound side, a picnic area and another kayak launch. This creates several independent points of interest for a day of vacation, without implying any particular route or proximity between the facilities.

Beach Accesses and Practical Orientation

Onslow County provides free year-round parking at three public beach accesses in North Topsail Beach. Beach Access Site No. 2 is located on NC210, 4 miles southeast of North Topsail Beach’s high-level bridge. It has a raised wooden pavilion by the ocean, a ramp to the beach, concession areas, restrooms and showers. The gravel parking areas can accommodate 250 vehicles across approximately 4 acres. Sea Turtles as a Special Focus

North Topsail Beach is considered a protected area for sea turtles. Historically, the area has had the highest number of nests and hatchlings among the other communities on Topsail Island. From the first week of June through the last week of August, Turtle Talks take place at Town Hall on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Admission is free for residents and visitors of all ages. In addition to observing the beach wildlife yourself, this gives you a regular opportunity to learn more about sea turtles.
