Farm and Outdoor Pool

Bethel Hobbs Community Farm is located on 11 acres of farmland in Centereach on Long Island. Those interested in agriculture can make it a focus of their travel plans. The acreage gives the farm theme a tangible connection to Centereach; it should be distinguished from the pretend-play activities about growing and harvesting crops offered at Museum Corner.

Centereach Pool is a seasonal outdoor pool. In 2026, it was open six days a week from June 27 through September 7, and closed to the public on Wednesdays. The dates matter for travelers considering swimming: as a seasonal activity, the outdoor pool may not be available for every travel date.

Pickleball at the Centereach Complex

The Centereach Complex has 15 pickleball courts. Online reservations have been available for courts 1 through 4 since May 19, 2025. The reservation information applies specifically to those four courts; it does not describe the remaining courts. Pickleball is therefore a distinct sports option for a stay in Centereach, clearly different from the activities aimed at children and families.

Interactive Discoveries for Children and Teenagers

Museum Corner is an interactive exhibition area in the children’s section of the Centereach building. It features changing interactive exhibitions and programs for children and their families. One specific example is the exhibition “Let’s Eat! Farm to Table,” supported by the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation. It explores healthy eating and offers hands-on role-play activities: children and families can pretend to grow and harvest food on a farm. The focus is therefore not only on food as a subject, but also on playfully exploring the steps from growing to harvesting.

The Underground Media Studio in the Underground building in Centereach offers a different kind of experience. It provides teenagers with physical equipment and software they can use to create new media. The activity focuses on media creation and creative work, making it a distinct area of interest alongside exhibitions for children and families.
