Amsterdam on the Mohawk River

Amsterdam connects the Mohawk River with the route of the Erie Canal and offers different ways to plan a trip: you can explore trails on foot or by bicycle, discover cultural history, or set aside time by the water. Riverlink Park is on the Mohawk River. For visitors traveling by boat on the river, the park offers a boat dock, as well as fresh water and electrical service at 240 to 120 volts. This makes the park particularly interesting for travelers whose stay is actually based around a boat trip; it does not describe vacation rental amenities.

The Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook Bridge is a notable place to explore cultural history. Twelve stopping points with explanatory texts cover important themes in the history of the Mohawk Valley. Another historical landmark is Guy Park, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Amsterdam has had a municipal golf course since 1938.
