Around Granisle, outdoor experiences extend all the way onto the water: Nearby Long Island Conservancy protects several islands, scenic shorelines and beaches, and is accessible by boat from Granisle. Hiking Trails and Landscapes by the Water

Granisle has numerous hiking trails that can be explored within the community and connect with additional trails outside it. Another option is nearby Red Bluff Park, where the self-guided Bluff Trail is an easy 3 km loop. If you are looking for a short, clearly defined walk, this offers a different trail option from the hiking routes that extend within and beyond the community.

Water also shapes the destinations in the surrounding area. Long Island Conservancy protects several islands, shorelines and beaches; travel from Granisle is by boat. The First Nation Petroglyphs and Indianhead Rock are also accessible by boat. On the cliffs of Babine Lake, there are First Nations rock carvings, almost directly across from the Pinkut Creek spawning channel. These destinations offer a different focus from a day on the hiking trails: here, the islands, shorelines and historic rock carvings take centre stage.

Babine Lake, Fishing and Spawning Channels

Babine Lake offers year-round opportunities to fish for rainbow trout and char. Sockeye salmon return to spawn from late summer to early fall.

Visitors can tour the Pinkut Creek and Fulton River spawning channels from Granisle. Fulton River has the largest artificial spawning channels in the world. Getting Around by Boat and in Winter

Granisle Marina offers public boat launching. On September 8, 2026, a hole, depression and ledge that posed a problem for boats and vehicles were reported at the second ramp. Use of an alternative ramp was recommended while repairs were underway.
