Nature

The southern route along Issyk-Kul is scenic but slower than the paved northern highway.

Culture and history

The Tosor archaeological site is classified as a Mousterian archaeological monument on the right bank of the Tosor River. A fortification protected a caravan route along the lakeshore as well as a branch route through the mountain passes. A fortified Tortkul associated with Tosor had high corner towers.
