Culture and History

Kuturgu is associated with an archaeological landscape: it includes seven large kurgans northeast of the settlement, six within the settlement, nine to the west, and around 100 different kurgans in the gorge.

The gorge above Kuturgu is described as an area with groups of and individually standing petroglyphs on boulders and rock walls. In the courtyard of the School of Hearts, four stone balbals are described as having been installed; prior arrangements are required to access the school’s interior exhibitions. The Semenovka–Kuturga petroglyph zone is also part of this cultural setting.
