Culture and history can be encountered at various places in Kyzylorda. The Kyzylorda Open University Museum displays a panorama entitled “Kazakh village in Zhailau” and presents Kazakh traditions and customs alongside a photo exhibition on the history of Kazakh yurts.

The Aitbay Mosque was built in 1878 and is described as a 19th-century monument. Since independence, it has been a place of prayer for Muslims. The monument to Jalantos Bakhadur was unveiled in 2010 on Zhibek Zholy Street in Kyzylorda.

Other monuments are dedicated to Bukharbai Estekbayuly, whose monument was erected in 2012; Zhankozha Nurmukhameduly, whose monument dates from 2014; and Mustafa Shokay, whose monument was created in 2018. The monument to Batyrkhan Shukenov was also erected in 2018 in B. Shukenov Park. The church building on Toktybayev Street is the main place of worship for Christians in Kyzylorda.

Leisure

Central Park has a Ferris wheel, a skate park and various amusement rides. Concerts featuring Kazakh and international music are held at Kyzylorda’s Philharmonic Hall in the Palace of Arts.

The Park of the First President stretches along the promenade on the banks of the Syrdarya River. Kyzylorda railway station is a historic landmark and was built in 1905. The S. Aitbayev Art Gallery is located at 2/1 Isa Toktybayev Street, near Korkyt Ata Park.
