Tranemo combines Tranemosjön with an easy circular trail, regional culture and various opportunities for active or relaxing days away. Those looking for a holiday apartment or holiday home can therefore explore the town according to their own interests: spend time by the water, visit local exhibitions, see a film or discover the region’s longer circular route.

Tranemosjön, Circular Trail and Bathing Areas

The Tranemosjön runt circular trail is 5.5 kilometres long, designated as an easy hiking trail and located right in Tranemo. The easiest starting point is the car park opposite Tranemo Church. This makes it easy to incorporate the route into your day without having to leave the town to reach the start of the trail.

Along the circular trail, near Parkudden, there is a bathing area with a jetty, swimming raft, beach volleyball court and boat jetty. The bathing area at Tranemosjön can also be reached via Brogatan, where parking is available. This allows you to set different priorities when planning your day: take a walk around the lake, spend time by the water or stop at individual facilities along the route.

For broader planning, Sjuhäradsrundan is an interesting option. The circular route is 15 Swedish miles in total, 12 of which are completely free of motor traffic. It runs between Borås, Ulricehamn, Tranemo and Svenljunga, thereby also connecting to other places in the surrounding area. Another option for an active stay is the Discgolf Tranemo disc golf course. It is suitable for beginners and experienced players who want to practise approach and placement shots.

Culture, Architecture and Film in Tranemo

Tranemo Church was built in 1882 to replace an earlier wooden church. It was designed by the Borås architect Emil Langlet. Anyone interested in architectural history will find a tangible connection here to the development of the town. The Tranemo Artists’ Group also runs a gallery on Storgatan in Tranemo. In the library, Svarta Galleriet complements the cultural offering as an exhibition wall where local exhibitors can display their works.

Another venue is the Centralen cultural centre on the shore of Tranemosjön. Centralen opened in 2020 following a local initiative for which 1,000 signatures were collected. The building combines a library with a bistro, a hotel and flexible, creative spaces.

The programme at Bio Tranan also offers a variety of film screenings. Every other Sunday, screenings are held featuring one children’s film and one adult film. In addition, a film on a Nordic theme is shown on Thursdays once a month, while lunchtime cinema takes place on Wednesdays. Depending on your travel plans, you can make a cinema visit a programme item in its own right or combine cultural experiences with activities by the lake.

Which Accommodation Suits Your Plans

When looking for a holiday apartment in Tranemo, it is worth first deciding on your preferred daily rhythm. If the lake and the circular trail are to be the main focus, Tranemosjön runt and the bathing areas provide natural points of reference for your planning. For travellers interested in culture, Tranemo Church, the gallery on Storgatan, Svarta Galleriet, Centralen and Bio Tranan offer a range of different themes. Those who want to cover more distance can also include Sjuhäradsrundan. This means you can choose suitable accommodation not on the basis of a generic description, but according to the experiences that are genuinely important to your travel group.
