Stjärnhov combines water, nature and a variety of experiences with amenities right in the locality. The Natån flows from Lake Naten towards Lake Båven; a paddling trip on the Natån between the two lakes begins within the locality. At the same time, paths lead to natural and cultural experiences, while bathing spots, playgrounds, restaurants and sports facilities make different kinds of holiday days possible. When looking for a holiday apartment or holiday home, you can therefore decide whether you want to focus on water, nature, family activities or culture.

Waterways and natural forests

Anyone who wants to explore Stjärnhov on foot will find a hidden path along the Nässelstaån river. The Nässelstaån connects Lake Naten with Kyrksjön upstream. The path to Nässelsta Mill begins in the centre of Stjärnhov. Stjärnhov’s waterworks, which extracts groundwater from the extensive Badelundaåsen ridge, is also located along this path.

For a day in nature, the Putbergen nature reserve is a good choice. It is home to an old natural forest with pine trees more than 300 years old. The easiest way to reach the reserve is via section 18 of the Sörmlandsleden trail, which passes through the eastern part of Putbergen. This combination of rivers, lakes and old forest gives your stay a distinctly scenic character without requiring you to limit yourself to just one way of exploring the area.

Bathing spot, playground and shared activities

Natenbadet is located in the middle of Stjärnhov, behind the Ica store. The bathing spot is easily accessible and intended for both local residents and visitors. It can also be reached by bus from Gnesta railway station; stops are located near the bathing spot. For a stay with children, “Balansera mera” adds to the local amenities. The themed playground on Häggvägen in the centre includes a climbing frame, a slide, small caves and a suspension bridge.

The sculpture and boule park is located in the centre on Road 57. At Solbacka, just outside Stjärnhov, there are two padel courts and a tennis court. Solbacka Golfklubb also offers an 18-hole course, a driving range and a practice area in natural surroundings. The adventure golf course “A Journey Through Sörmland” is also located at Solbacka in Stjärnhov. It has 12 holes, the playing time is approximately 30 to 60 minutes, and several obstacles depict places, buildings and stories from Sörmland.

At Äppellunden, you can choose from traditional garden games such as skittles, boule, horseshoe throwing, cornhole, frisbee darts and giant Jenga. You can choose between a triathlon, pentathlon and decathlon there. This allows you to combine active activities with a day at the beach, a visit to the nature reserve or an excursion in the surrounding area.

Culture, events and dining

Just outside Stjärnhov lies Gryts hembygdsgård, with several old buildings, including the Hässleby Museum. The historic barn Lagårn i Ullsta offers exhibitions, concerts and events as well as views of Lake Misteln. At Lagårn, Musik i Gryt organises music evenings with a bar. Grytsbergs Säteri in Stjärnhov has origins dating back to the 12th century. A cooking class at Grytsberg can be booked on request.

For an uncomplicated meal, Bar 57 is located in the centre of Stjärnhov; the restaurant has a pizza menu. When choosing your accommodation, you can therefore weigh up a stay focused on amenities in the locality against plans involving nature, golf or culture in the nearby area. Solbacka is located just outside Stjärnhov and has a connection of approximately 3 km to section 19 of the Sörmlandsleden trail.

Choose Stjärnhov as your base

A holiday apartment in Stjärnhov is suitable for travel plans that combine a bathing spot, playground, boule, dining and trails starting from the locality. If golf, padel, tennis or the connection to section 19 of the Sörmlandsleden trail are the main focus, you can also include the area around Solbacka in your considerations. For water enthusiasts, the paddling trip on the Natån begins within the locality; culture enthusiasts can choose from historic buildings, museums, events and music evenings.
