Experience culture and local history

Vislanda Church stands out with its compact-looking Neoclassical form and white-rendered façades. In 1813, an organ by Pehr Schiörlin was installed in Vislanda Church. This gives the church a concrete insight into local cultural history. Another special place is Wieselgrensgården, immediately outside Vislanda. The historic farm has roots dating back to the 19th century. Sustainable cultivation is demonstrated in the gardens; seasonal flower picking and a farm shop complement the offerings. There you will find locally produced and reused products, including vegetables, eggs, honey and local handicrafts.

Skeppshult, the base of the Vislanda Local Heritage Association, hosts annual Walpurgis and Midsummer celebrations, cultural days and other events. The landscape alternates between wet meadows, an old lake bed, cultivated land, arable fields, older and younger sections of forest, and clear-cuts. For a stay with a water-based experience, Kojtet bathing spot is a good choice. It has a particularly large sandy beach and two bathing jetties. Husebymaden Nature Reserve covers 130 hectares, has been protected since 1988 and is part of the Natura 2000 network. It has abundant birdlife and a birdwatching tower. Cycling with different stages

The Banvallsleden passes through Vislanda and Kojtet and runs along the Vislandabanan, the Karlshamn–Vislanda–Bolmen railway line. Anyone who enjoys cycling will find a clearly defined route through the surrounding area. Another suggestion is the Möckeln–Åsnenleden, which is connected to the Älmhult–Vislanda and Vislanda–Ryd stages. This route is still under development and has not yet been signposted. The proposed Möckeln–Åsnenleden can be cycled in shorter sections. For a shorter round trip, the Älmhult–Vislanda stage can be combined with a train journey, so you do not have to return along the same route. Vislanda station is served by Krösatågen and regional buses. When choosing your accommodation, you can therefore take both your planned excursions and your preferred mode of arrival into account.

Ideas for exploring together

Along the Hitta Vilse trail, illustrated signs explain to children what they should do if they get lost. The trail is located in the school forest behind the canteen of Vislandaskolan.
