Storhågna combines alpine downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and mountain hikes into a destination offering very different possibilities for spending days on holiday together. Storhågna and Klövsjö form two interconnected ski areas with slopes on two mountains and very varied terrain. Even away from the alpine slopes, there are specific destinations for active days, small discoveries with children and quieter hours.

Alpine Skiing and Cross-Country Skiing in the Mountains

The alpine ski area in Storhågna has green, blue and red runs. Alpine skiing uses 100 percent natural snow. The cross-country skiing options are also interesting when planning your trip: the cross-country network includes trails measuring 0.8 km, 1.1 km, 2.5 km, 3 km, 5 km and 7.2 km. Storhågna also has a 6 km-long cross-country connection to Vemdalsskalet.

A special loop is the machine-groomed Högfjällsrundan on Slättfjället. It can be used for classic cross-country skiing and skating and passes the staffed Samevistet hut. Those choosing their accommodation based on their preferred winter activities can weigh up alpine runs, shorter trails and a longer connection towards Vemdalsskalet.

Trails for Children and Hikes of Different Lengths

For families, the 1 km-long Plupps stig, also known as Pluppstigen, offers a dedicated discovery trail with adventures for children just outside the hotel. There are playful activities along the entire trail: balancing, jumping over tree stumps and stones, tasting spring water and visiting Plupps Kote. This makes it possible to combine a short outing with specific discoveries.

Storhågna has well-marked hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty. Hotellslingan is an easier hike. A longer hike leads towards the Fallmorafallen waterfalls. The excursion there offers mountain views and the opportunity to bathe in the fresh mountain water of the Röjån. The hiking trail between Storhågna and Samevistet crosses the treeless mountain landscape. From Samevistet, the route to the Fallmorafallen waterfalls is signposted; this extends the tour by 1.5 km.

Hut, Spa and Options for Ending the Day

Samevistet is a waffle hut in the mountains, 3.5 km from the hotel. Waffles made according to their own recipe, soups, and hot and cold drinks are served there. For a different kind of relaxation, Storhogna Spa & Pool has a pool, hot tub and sauna; spa treatments are also available.

Storhogna M, also known as M-huset, is a meeting place in Vemdalen with a restaurant, activities, gym, ski shop and grocery store. It also has bowling, a SkiStarshop, ski rental and SkiPass sales. Fjällvistet at the foot of the mountain offers a sauna and dinner experience for families and friends. The bike arena at Storhogna M includes a pump track, adding another activity to the selection.
