Ador: Hiking, Culture and Holiday Apartments

Ador first reveals itself through the SL-CV 59 Sendero de la Sierra de Ador hiking trail. The trail has the homologation status “positive quality control” and begins at the municipal swimming facility in Ador. The Sierra de Ador is recommended for hikes through a landscape of ravines and springs.

The parish church Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de Loreto in Ador was built in the 16th century and later expanded in the 18th century. Inside the Iglesia Parroquial de Nuestra Señora de Loreto are paintings from the school of Juan de Juanes.

The Colección Museográfica Etnológica de Ador is housed in a 19th-century building. It displays historical tools and objects from domestic and agricultural work. Alongside the building’s history, this also places earlier forms of domestic and agricultural daily life at the centre.

Archaeology

A Neolithic burial was discovered in the cave in the Barranco del Figueral on Mount Els Ninets. In the La Canaleta area is the cave known as Cueva del Alcalde.

The archaeological site of Raconch included a manor house with a heating system unusual for its time. Archaeological remains were found in the Raconch district, among the most significant in the comarca.

Archaeology is also spread across different sites and traces of different periods. The Neolithic burial, the named cave and the site with the manor house and heating system stand as separate indications alongside one another. This brings different forms of human remains and evidence to the forefront.
